A Small Vacation for GPS Members

Last Monday night 5/19/08 I was able to pry a couple of the hardworking GPS producers away from their passions and lure them into an adventure over at The Dawn of Time, (a persistent world for NWN2) http://sharepoint.alignment-networks.com/DoT/default.aspx .

I was very happy to see our own LadyElvenstar pick up her mace and stand side by side with EC's ranger and my dwarf fighter. Together they met royalty, bargained for information with thieves, fought their way through dark and dangerous dungeons, and even found a talking Ogre, (who wasn't very friendly) but in the end...all survived, just slightly less for the ware.

I think a short reprieve from the hard work these folks put into their creations was and will always be needed. It's all too often that we forget this is supposed to be fun, a hobby if you will, and we all end up getting too caught up in deadlines. I certainly recommend an excursion like this to any and all of the members of the NWN2 community.

I hope to see all the members of GPS taking a break and coming over, I will make sure a good time is to be had.

Yes, Chet... I had a blast and I can see how I might become a bit addicted to PW play. :)

I will be sure to head to Dawn of Time this Saturday night to see what adventure awaits me and I welcome others to join us there!

Sounds like a lot of fun.

I take time each night to play a Star Wars game with/for my younger sons. They love it.

I though about picked up a Spiderman game that was put out a year or so ago, but I'd NEVER get any modding done. My children would insist upon Spiderman 24/7.

I'm glad you had a good game together.

Yes, I know what you mean, Ernie! My son can't wait for Star Wars Unleashed to come out in September and he keeps talking about it now and then. :)

You should join us online sometime, I know it would be fun to play all together! :)

never tried real multiplayer NWN2 - curious how it works in reality (i'm a pause-button fiend when I play alone)

The team that plays together, stays together. Not sure about the team that slaughters intelligent humanoids tho... ;)

If we can get together on a Tuesday, or Wednesday night, I'd love to join in on the fun. I'm sure I can pull myself away from Max, Zbrush, and Photoshop long enough for a little play time. It's been soooo long. :)

Oh yeah, I can't type fast though. It will be hard not being able to pause in a fight. But, at least you're only controlling one character. :)

It was my first MP PW experience too. I had fun playing my "abrasive" ;) half-elf ranger and found it an even more engrossing experience than playing SP. I could definitely see myself getting into it.

The main issue for me of course is time commitment : I rarely if ever play for 2-3 hour sessions anymore. It's more like 45 spurts usually. This makes it impossible to have any sort of meaningful online play with a DM and a party of live people.

But I could probably scrounge up a few hours at some point to get together again. It sure would be fun if community friends could join in.
